Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide growth-hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP) developed to selectively activate the ghrelin / GHS-R receptor. Unlike earlier GHRPs it does not stimulate cortisol, prolactin or aldosterone at research doses.
This selectivity is why Ipamorelin has become the default GHRP in recovery, longevity and body-composition research protocols — it produces clean GH pulses without the endocrine noise of older analogs.
Ipamorelin binds the GHS-R1a receptor on somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary, triggering release of stored growth hormone in a physiologic, pulsatile pattern.
Because it works through the pituitary rather than replacing GH itself, endogenous feedback loops remain intact — reducing the desensitization risk seen with exogenous somatropin.
