What is IGF-1 LR3?
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an 83-amino-acid analog of endogenous insulin-like growth factor 1 with an N-terminal extension and a single arginine substitution that dramatically reduces binding to IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs).
The result is a plasma half-life of roughly 20–30 hours vs. ~20 minutes for native IGF-1, and 2–3× the free bioactive fraction — making it the most-cited IGF-1 analog in muscle-hyperplasia research.
