The result is a plasma half-life of roughly 20–30 hours vs. ~20 minutes for native IGF-1, and 2–3× the free bioactive fraction — making it the most-cited IGF-1 analog in muscle-hyperplasia research.
IGF-1 LR3 binds the IGF-1 receptor, activating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR growth pathway that drives protein synthesis and satellite-cell recruitment.
Because it partially escapes IGFBP sequestration, more of it reaches target tissue, producing a stronger anabolic and hyperplastic signal per microgram than native IGF-1.
